Whether you prefer a hidden beach secluded in nature surrounded by littoral rainforest, or you like to be close to cafes to quench your thirst with freshly pressed juice or a craft beer, here are 3 of our favourite spots to lay down your towel.

1. Shark Cove, Broulee Island

After walking the trail circling Broulee Island, take a break at Shark Cove by its southern coast. A repeat favourite in any Eurobodalla holiday guide for outdoor lovers, it’s set in a protected marine sanctuary that offers an exceptional vista to explore on foot or underwater.

Whether you choose to enjoy a leisurely swim or are up for an hour or two of snorkelling, its shallow reefs, big reef ralls and sand flats provide a dynamic landscape to spot harmless banjo sharks, stingrays, green turtles and other marine life in their natural habitat.

Exploring Broulee Island is easy — from the carpark at the head of the trail and sandbar, follow the marked trail clockwise to finish and refresh at Shark Cove.

2. Potato Point Beach

If you like to get off the beaten path and see kangaroos hopping around, Potato Point Beach offers a pristine escape in a secluded setting. Surrounded by the native bushland of the Eurobodalla National Park, its rolling waves provide a great opportunity to spend the afternoon in your swimmers to enjoy a relaxing swim and surf or simply as a picturesque. Nearby Beachcomber Holiday Park offers a stunning and remote place to camp by the beach if you’re yearning to get back to nature. Don’t be surprised to see lots of native wildlife including local emus.

If you’re a seasoned snorkeller and itching for a more thrilling outdoor adventure in Eurobodalla, you can explore a fascinating and pristine marine habitat home to schools of kingfish and salmon. If luck is on your side, you might spot wobbegongs, Port Jackson sharks and stingrays. Closer to shore, the rocky reefs are home to sea squirts and sea urchins.

3. Malua Bay Beach

If you’re looking for a family-friendly destination, Malua Bay Beach is the place to be. With its patrolled swimming areas (during peak summer periods), kid’s play equipment and BBQ and picnic facilities, it’s a safe and enjoyable spot for both kids and adults to cool off with a splash in the waves.

Whether you’re enjoying a swim, playing a game of footy on the sand or taking a bite out of a sausage sandwich using the BBQ facilities by the nearby grassy reserve, it’s too easy to spend a half or full day here.
