How to get to Water Tower Lookout

Access to the water tower and Bellbrook walk is from the end of Station Street. There is some parking beyond the gate or in the street adjacent to the historic Dromedary Hotel.  It’s just a five-minute walk to reach Water Tower Lookout, up a fairly steep slope.

Central Tilba is easily accessible from major cities.

If you’re travelling from Sydney, take the Princes Highway (A1) heading south towards Batemans Bay and continue past it, driving for about 4 hours in total. After passing through Narooma, take the turnoff onto Corkhill Drive, which leads directly to Central Tilba. Turn onto Bate Street, and take the next turn onto Station Street at the Dromedary Hotel.

From Canberra, take the Kings Highway heading east and turn right on the Princes Highway (A1) at Batemans Bay. The drive takes approximately 2.5 hours, passing through Moruya, Narooma and scenic rural landscapes before reaching the turnoff at Corkhill Drive into Central Tilba. Follow the local signage to reach the walk and lookout.

Parking

There is a designated parking area at the base of the lookout, just a short walk from the main viewing platform. 

Best Times to Visit

Extending the walk onto the Bellbrook Farm Loop, the mown path which will lead you over a rocky outcrop and onto a timber stair case. The stair case takes you beneath some lovely shady trees and granite rocks. At the bottom you can take the 1.5km loop in either direction. Return the way you came.

About half way round the loop there is a picnic table near a lovely large tree where you can rest and take in the gorgeous scenery and upward views of Gulaga.
