TREAT YOUR POOCH TO A PET FRIENDLY HOLIDAY

Pets love being at the coast almost as much as their human companions, with the fresh sea air and so many things to see and explore.

If you’re keen to bring your best bud along for your next holiday, there’s no shortage of pet-friendly places to stay in Eurobodalla. There’s also a range of cafes and restaurants with outdoor seating areas that openly welcome pets, as well as many beachfront walks and coastal cycling trails you can explore with your pet in tow.

When you need some time to yourself, there’s a number of resort-style kennels that will happily care for your pooch for the day or even just for a few hours.

To help you plan your next holiday so your pet can tag along, here are some pet-friendly services you’ll find on the coast...

Coastal camping sites and holiday homes

There’s also a huge range of south coast camping options – many of which are pet friendly – and plenty of private holiday homes which also welcome pets.

Pet friendly walks and beaches

You don’t have to go far on the coast to find open parkland or beach zones that allow dogs to explore leash-free.

To make it easy for you to plan your day and find areas closest to where you’re staying, this dog exercise areas map shows which locations are zoned:

  • 24-hour off leash
  • Timeshare (off-leash at certain times of the day or year)
  • Dogs prohibited

When you’re ready to refuel and get a bite to eat, you’ll find many cafes and restaurants with outdoor seating areas that cater to pets – just be sure to book a table in advance (especially due to social distancing requirements).

Kennels at the coast

If you want to bring your pet along but still enjoy adventures alone or with your family, Barbara’s Boarding Kennels in Benandarah and Batemans Bay Boarding Kennels both offer short term stay options.

Clyde River Pet Lodge also offer everything from doggy daycare to hydrobathing and grooming.

And if you need a vet during your stay you’ll find veterinary clinics at Batemans Bay, Caseys Beach, Surf Beach, Moruya, and more.
