Food trails

Discover the fresh food and produce of Eurobodalla

Long after you’ve left you will remember Eurobodalla for its breathtaking beauty and for its seriously good food.

Our Food Trails lead you on a delicious and delightful journey. Hidden amongst our towns and villages and countryside are people as passionate about food as you. Meet our oyster growers, farmers, coffee-roasters and cheese and wine-makers as you explore the Food Trails. You’ll find fresh local produce not only at our markets, but on the tables of our restaurants and cafes. Wherever you go you will find innovation and creativity and welcoming service.

Each Food Trail offers something a little different. The Batemans Bay trail will reveal the thriving café culture and competitive restaurant scene in the town and nearby villages, with plenty of opportunity to explore and enjoy the clean air, sea breeze and forests. You’ll find Clyde River oysters live up to their reputation. The Moruya trail is a different journey, through lush farming country, with scenic river and mountain views. This is an outstanding trail, which will take you to the centre of the local food movement. Riverside markets, lakeside cafes, river restaurants, dairy sheds and more reveal the heart of Eurobodalla. Head further south to explore the  Narooma and Tilba trail where you’ll find incredible beauty and more great food. This trail leads to romantic dinners watching the sun set over Forsters Bay. Try lovely new wines in the beautiful grounds of the Tilba Winery and don’t miss the mouth-watering organic fresh salmon and other fantastic seafood sold in Narooma.

Oysters, wine and cheese
Who could not fall in love with Narooma? Mt Dromedary, or Gulaga, the old lady volcano watches over the town and the winding estuary. The seals frolic in the water and laze about on the rocks. The charter tours take keen fisherman out to sea and the visitors love Montague Island. This is paradise.
Everywhere you look in Narooma you will find fresh seafood and a new foodie experience to enjoy.

From farm to market
The farms and market gardens of Moruya lie along the lush, fertile and picturesque flats of the Moruya River and have provided the town and region with quality fruit and vegetables since the 1850s. Each year in spring there’s the snap and succulence of freshly picked peas and special taste of newly dug potatoes, while in summer there’s the fragrance of freshly cut herbs at markets and grocers. In summer there’s fresh corn and tomatoes to look forward to…
