3 days of adventure!
Pack your sense of adventure and be prepared for 3 days of action and fun!
Day 1: Water sport and adventure
Water sport and adventure is the order of the day. In and around Batemans Bay you will find all manner of craft to take out into the estuaries and ocean, from kayaks and canoes to larger vessels. If you don’t want to skipper but just want to catch that big fish hop on board a charter. If surfing or Stand Up Paddling is more your style travel south to Broulee. Lessons are available for the novices. For the experienced surfers, head back north to McKenzies Beach. Tonight, stay at Broulee or Mossy Point because you’ll need a good nights sleep for tomorrow!
Day 2: The view from above
Don’t hesitate a moment longer, if you’ve got skydiving on your bucket list of things to do before you turn 100, now is the time to do it over this breathtaking stretch of coastline. Moruya Airport, about 20 minutes from Batemans Bay offers tandem and solo leaps, with training provided. If you want to leave it for another year, take a seaplane flight along the coast instead. The views are amazing from up there! Stay the night in Moruya and enjoy a stunningly beautiful sunset over the Deua National Park mountains.
Day 3: A night in the Bendethera wilderness
If you’re an experienced four-wheel driver and conditions are right, don’t miss this one. Take a day trip or camp overnight by the beautiful Deua River 48 km west of Moruya in the Deua National Park. It is one of the best remote camping spots along the South Coast and offers peaceful fishing and relaxing. Not far away is the walking trek to the Bendethera Caves. Before you go check in with the Narooma National Parks and Wildlife Service on 02 4476 0800 regarding road and weather conditions and note there are river crossings, steep descents and ascents and rocky terrain that is treacherous when wet. From the turn-off at Sugarloaf Rd onto the Bendethera fire trail it is four-wheel drive access only. Tonight, sleep under the stars.
