Durras Mountain Walk

Durras Mountain Walk

Durras Mountain is a steep climb but worth the effort for the 360 degree bushland and keyhole ocean views at the top.

Walk around the summit to find the keyhole views where seats are strategically positioned for maximum wow-factor. On a clear day, view landmarks such as Montague Island and Pigeon House Mountain. Plenty of wildlife inhabits the area including large goannas, parrots, kangaroos, and the sounds of whipbirds and wonga pigeons can be heard any time of the year.

A rewarding walk for photographers and in Spring you might be lucky to spot a whale or two. Start your walk at the Pebbly Beach campground carpark, where BBQ’s, picnic tables and toilets are available.

Length: 7.5km return
Time: 3.5 hours return
Grade: Moderate to difficult
Access: 14km north of Batemans Bay on the Princes Highway turn right into Mt Agony Road, follow 8km to Pebbly Beach campground carpark.
